Wallflower
Tilda - Tone Finnanger
Wallflower is an ornamental collection
loosely inspired by,
and my somewhat romantic take
on design styles popular
in the 1960s and 70s.
The name Wallflower
takes me back to dancing school,
at a time of my life
where I was taller
than the boys
and therefore doomed
to be a wallflower.
The ballroom had a distinctive
1970s floral wallpaper
that I tried my best to disappear into,
much like the shy girl
in the Wallflower fabric design.
Given the state of the world
at the time this collection
was designed and the inspiration
behind the fabrics,
it seemed fitting to promote
some good thoughts
through the naive but heartfelt
Peace and Love quilts.
The era also inspired the cute
Campervan quilt designs
where buttons are used
as decoration on the wheels,
and, of course, a whimsical flower
quilt is a must.
The collection has two
distinctive color stories.
One is sweet and fresh with
vintage reds, greens and pinks
with hints of blue and sour yellow.
The otheris more of a nod
to the 1960s and 70s,
with caramel, blue, ginger,
ochre and thistle tones.
All the quilt designs are
presented in the
two different colorways with
matching pillows
and will be released
as free patterns on tildasworld.com
with the collection.
